Industry calls for a product group specific approach to the Ecodesign’s first Working Plan

A.I.S.E., together with other industry associations, has called on the European Commission to adopt a product group-specific approach in the implementation of the Ecodesign’s first Working Plan. We argue that horizontal requirements, such as those on durability, reparability and recycled content, risk being too vague, legally uncertain and poorly adapted to the diverse characteristics of different product categories. A.I.S.E. supports tailored ecodesign rules that reflect the unique functions, compositions and value chains of each product group, enabling more effective, enforceable and innovation-friendly legislation.
