Paving the way for a future without animal testing: EPAA 20th anniversary
A.I.S.E. celebrates the 20th anniversary of the European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to Animal Testing (EPAA), a joint initiative from the European Commission, European trade associations from 9 industry sectors – including our association – and individual companies.
Over the past two decades, EPAA has driven the development and regulatory acceptance of innovative, animal-free testing methods. This partnership has helped make the 3Rs (replacement, reduction, and refinement of animal use) a reality in European safety assessments, including the landmark ban on animal testing for cosmetics, which has inspired action worldwide.
At today’s event in the European Parliament in Brussels hosted by MEP Tilly Metz, leaders from policy, industry, and science reflected on EPAA’s achievements and the road ahead. As the European Commission advances its roadmap to phase out animal testing for chemical safety, EPAA’s expertise and collaborative spirit will be essential.
A.I.S.E. remains committed to supporting EPAA’s mission, working with partners to deliver safer, more sustainable products without animal testing.
